Since the Hindu/Presidency College was at the centre of important developments in modern Indian social life, a big number of historical works engage withfigures and events from the institution. Histories of science, nationalism, social reform, religion, education, postcolonial state-making, and many more deal with the College, as the College contributed seminally to these aspects of modern Indian history. This section will give users a basic understanding of the location of the institution within the existing historiography of modern India.
